Artist Spotlight : Morgan Macaulay
If you’ve driven by the PK Victoria studios at 579 gorge road east you know the Rockslide Gallery (headed by Logan Ford) is constantly displaying amazing local artwork. Our studios are located here as well and we are always inspired by what we see and want to shed additional light on the artists and their work. Enjoy the gallery!
Born in Victoria BC, Morgan Macaulay started drawing at an early age, beginning in 1983 as a young child and thriving on the idea of creating art, he has had no formal art training other than being mentored by his high school art teachers and peers. Starting with acrylics in the early 1990’s and then turning his creativity to graffiti murals in 1995, he applied what he learned from graffiti to creating many large commercial and residential murals for clients in Victoria, and continuing today.
Fine art oil painting on canvas started in 2005 and has allowed his work to be shown in exhibits and in private collections. His main focus is on the impressionist style and the use of colour and light as well as the overall texture of his work.
Other mediums such as airbrushing and watercolour are also applied to creating his commissions for clients.
