Noize for Toys Recap!
A few of the Capital Regional kids got an extra special holiday season this year thanks to the efforts of a Victoria based non profit organication’s toy fundraiser; Noize for Toys!
Local Notion, an organization committed to raising funds for charities through their events and promotional support, got some of Victoria’s best and brightest together to assist and raise funds for Victoria’s United Way. With donations from shops and organizations across the lower island, the December 7th event started off with Belly Dancing performances courtesy of dancers from Asmira’s Dance School and moved into performances from some of Victoria’s best known electronic DJ’s.
Encouraged to bring a toy for a young boy or girl, the toy bin was full early in the night as attendees brought all manner of fun delights to donate. In addition, those who attended were all entered into draws to win some of the numerous door prizes that had been donated to the great cause. Throughout the evening there was a visible smile on all participants faces as everyone got involved and had a chance to dance the evening away.
In the end, Local Notion raised a whopping $1300 for United Way! That was in addition to the countless toys that were hand delivered by Matt Tucker on Local Notion’s behalf. Local Notion wishes to extend a big thank you to all the DJs and performers that were involved in the event as well as those who donated prizes, toys or their time to help brighten a child’s Christmas!
Thanks to the DJs who came out to rock it!
